Dr Soarawee Weerasopone diagnosed me in May 2021 with bladder cancer. After two minimally invasive surgeries in June and July, he suggested to get further treatment back home. I’ve been fortunate over my long life in that I have had to make very few visits to the hospital, but I do remember well the regular trips to my local pediatrician as a boy in the suburbs of New York, and I was reminded of them during my visit to Dr. Soarawee. Yes, he is a top-tier world-class urologist, among many other things including being one of the few physicians, certainly in this part of the world, trained in the use of the Da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgery system. But it was his generosity in taking the time to sit down with me and answer all my questions both before and after my procedure, his ‘family-doctor’ style bedside manner when he came up to my room to see how I was feeling, all of these human touches from a very busy guy who was constantly flying around the region, that impressed me most. Dr. Soarawee also treated my condition successfully, and I awoke after a few hours to find all of the unpleasant symptoms gone. I can’t thank him enough for his skill, and his compassion.
